Events

A thobe is a traditional long garment worn by Muslim men in many parts of the world. While the overall style is recognizable across cultures, the details can vary significantly from country to country from the cut and fabric to the embroidery, collar style, buttons, colors, and decorative patterns. Those details make each thobe a reflection of culture, heritage, and personal identity.

Thobe Day gives our Muslim brothers the opportunity to proudly wear these traditions side by side and share the stories behind them. Students are able to see how the same garment can look different depending on where someone’s family comes from, while also recognizing the faith and values that connect them.

That is what makes the event so meaningful. The different designs highlight the diversity within our Muslim community, while the shared tradition brings us together in a celebration of identity, culture, faith, and brotherhood.

The MSA has proudly hosted Henna Events open to students across the entire Lehman Educational Campus, creating a vibrant space for creativity, culture, and community connection. Students were invited to sit with our talented henna artists and make the experience their own.

The event brought together students from different schools, backgrounds, and friend groups in a relaxed and welcoming environment where conversation, laughter, and artistic expression naturally came together. In collaboration with the WSA Girls’ Club and WSA Fashion Club, the Henna Event became more than an art activity; it became an opportunity for students to connect across the campus, celebrate cultural traditions, and appreciate the skill and individuality behind henna artistry.

A special thank-you goes to the student artists, volunteers, and WSA NHS members whose time, talent, and support helped make the event such a memorable success.

The MSA Food Festival brought students and staff together to celebrate the incredible cultural diversity represented across our school community through one of the most universal ways people connect: food.

Students contribute with homemade dishes as well as meals from local businesses, creating a table filled with flavors, traditions, and family favorites from different cultural backgrounds. For many students, the event became an opportunity not only to share something they enjoy, but also to explain the story, tradition, or cultural significance behind a particular dish.  The Food Festival reminded us that diversity is something to be celebrated and shared. What began as a meal became an afternoon of cultural exchange, curiosity, laughter, connection, and community, strengthening relationships among students and staff across the school.

The launch of the official MSA at WSA hoodie gave students a new way to proudly represent their club, their school community, and the sense of belonging they had built together.

The hoodie is more than club merchandise - seeing students from different schools across the campus wearing the same design became a visible symbol of unity and shared identity. Wearing it also made the MSA more visible throughout the campus, sparking conversations and a growing sense of pride among members.

The hoodie represents the community our students have built: different individuals, different schools, one shared MSA. This is the beauty of MSA,  we are the only club that has connected other schools under one umbrella.

Eid is one of the most significant celebrations in the Muslim faith, marking a time of gratitude, joy, reflection, and togetherness. MSA’s Eid Banquet brings that spirit to life as one of its largest events, drawing 80+ students and staff from all six Lehman campus schools. We are grateful to local restaurant owners and other schools within our building for generously donating food to make the celebration possible. Through shared food, activities, and a welcoming atmosphere, students celebrated together, built new relationships, and experienced what it means to come together as one community, and this is the beauty of Eid celebrations.

The success of the Eid Banquet reflects the MSA’s commitment to building an inclusive school community where everyone feels welcome and connected.
